We can help your teenager through counseling, neurofeedback, or both.

Neurofeedback trains the brain to work in a more calm, focused, and effective way.  Our QEEG brain maps find the brain wave patterns that are contributing to a problem.  For example, a person with ADHD/ADD may be producing too much of theta, a more sluggish brainwave and not enough of beta, a faster brainwave associated with attention.  Once the brain wave patterns are found that are related to inattention, the individual does a series of neurofeedback sessions that train the brain to maintain attention and focus.

Counseling, also called talk therapy or psychotherapy, can also be a key component in the treatment of mood and attention problems.  Our clinicians are trained in a variety of modalities, including: cognitive-behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, brainspotting, trauma-focused therapy, biofeedback and play therapy.  With counseling, the person can learn techniques to calm their body and their mind.
