Neurofeedback for ADD/ADHD

Neurofeedback trains the brain to work in a more calm and effective way. Our QEEG brain maps find the brain wave patterns that are contributing to inattention. For example, a person with ADHD/ADD may be producing too much of theta, a more sluggish brainwave and not enough of beta, a faster brainwave associated with attention. Once the brain wave patterns are found that are related to inattention, the individual does a series of neurofeedback sessions that train the brain to maintain attention and focus.

Counseling for ADD/ADHD

Counseling, also called talk therapy or psychotherapy, can also be a key component in the treatment of attention problems. Our clinicians are trained in a variety of modalities, including: cognitive-behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, brainspotting, trauma-focused therapy, biofeedback and play therapy. With counseling, the person can learn techniques to calm their body and their mind, allowing them to better focus.

We offer telehealth counseling appointments which allow you to have sessions in the comfort and safety of your own home. When appropriate, in-person sessions are available using COVID-19 precautions.

Adult ADHD Testing

Are you an adult looking for a brief ADHD screen without having to wait several months (or even over a year) for a full neuropsychological evaluation?

If you’ve answered “yes”, we may be able to help.

The purpose of this screening is to provide adults with a relatively quick screening for ADHD symptoms (2-3 hours) without having to wait for several months to participate in a full neuropsychological evaluation (typically 4-7 hours). The screening consists of a Clinical Interview, psychological questionnaires, rating scales, and brief cognitive tests. After the evaluation is completed, a feedback session with recommendations is provided by Dr. Amy Palmer, and a brief 1-2 page report is provided.
