At the Center for NeuroPotential, we use the Vielight Duo, which allows us to pulse 10 Hz or 40 Hz near infrared (NIR) light to the brain. Research has shown that benefits can include improved mental performance (attention, executive functioning) and reduce feelings of depression and anxiety.
The Vielight has been categorized by the FDA as a low-risk general wellness device. All Vielight devices have been independently TUV certified as safe for consumer use. It is not approved as a treatment for any illness or disorder. However, there is a growing body of research on PBM and clinical trials to support its use.
The Vielight can be used on its own, integrated into neurofeedback, or during a therapy session. You can discuss the options with Dr. Palmer or your clinician. The Vielight is used from 5-20 minutes, depending on your situation.
Unfortunately, no. There is no billing code for photobiomodulation. This is a self-pay, add-on service.
The fee is $25 per session. The typical time per use ranges from 5 – 20 minutes.
